What Personal Data We Collect and Why

Comments
When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymized string (hash) generated from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes visible to the public alongside your comment.

Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract this data from images posted on the site.

Contact Forms
Any data submitted through contact forms may be stored to respond to your inquiry. We do not use this information for marketing purposes unless explicitly stated.

Cookies

•    When you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to re-enter your details for future comments. These cookies last for one year.
•    If you have an account and log in, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
•    Upon logging in, we set cookies to save your login details and screen preferences. Login cookies last two days, screen option cookies one year. If you choose “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes these cookies.
•    If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. It contains no personal data and simply notes the post ID of the article. It expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, or articles). Embedded content behaves just as if you visited the originating site. These external sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with their content—especially if you’re logged into those services.

Analytics
We may use third-party analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site. These tools may collect anonymous usage data to help improve our content and services.

Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell your data. Visitor comments may be processed through an automated spam detection service.

How Long We Retain Your Data
Comments and associated metadata are stored indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-ups automatically.
For registered users (if applicable), we store the personal data provided in user profiles. Users can view, edit, or delete their information at any time—except for the username. Administrators can also access and edit this data.

Your Rights Over Your Data
If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You may also request that we erase any personal data, except for information we are required to retain for legal, administrative, or security reasons.

Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments may be reviewed by an automated spam detection service.
